The Runic Tarot is a divination deck that uses the powerful symbolism of different but closely interelated cultures. Over the centuries the peoples of the Nordic and Celtic tribes fought, interacted, borrowed and influenced each other taking what they found useful to enhance their own culture. The nature of divination is in itself not an exclusive discipline. Tarot readers make use of astrology, astrologers may use a pendulum to verify difficult horary questions and so on. A psychic may use an eastern meditation to prepare ourselves for a clairvoyant consultation.

The runes are largely based on the simple rhythmic lives of the farmers and tillers of the soil of earlier times. The seasons of planting, growth, fruition were the same for both the Celts and the Northern tribes, with similar times of celebration and worship. To add time and accent to the powerful meanings of the runes we have combined them with the four suits of the Celtic seasons that are inextricably linked with all life.

The seasons are an integral part of our life. Just as each year has a spring, a summer, an autumn and a winter so does each question asked of the Runic Tarot. With the runes set on the framework of the Sun’s path around the zodiac we can simply and clearly divine the answers to any of our current questions.
