
Studied at Hornsey College of Art, After some years in advertising
agencies, ran a design group with Eric Hill ( Astrop/Hill Design Associates
)during the sixties. Elected a Fellow of the Society of Industrial
Artists in 1970. During this period lectured at Hornsey Art College
and was a governor of Southend Art College. Had become interested
interested in astrology earlier in the sixties and joined the Astrological
Lodge of London and the Astrological Association. As an extension
of this interest and a growing involvement with children's activity
books he also studied psychology and in particular child psychology.
Wrote "Sun Child Moon Child" a study of parent/child relationships,
"Little Stars" a series of books for parents based on the
astrology of the child's first 7 years. The latter series were published
in seventeen countries. John worked closely with his wife Caroline
Smith on her Elemental Tarot and Moon Oracle writing the books and
contributing the astrological content. An interest in the first computers
in the late seventies led to the creation of some of the first computer
software for astrologers. In the 80's John worked with astrologer
Tad Mann producing software for the Logarithmic Timescale, a new system
of astrologocal timing based on the work of Rodney Collin. Throughout
the last thirty years he has worked professionally in astrology, writing
and lecturing at major annual conferences both in the U.K. and Europe.
Now lives and works in South East England. Relaxations are cooking
( produced 3 cookbooks back in the sixties for Determined Productions
Inc.) and music, playing both blues and flamenco guitar. Has four
children and five grandchildren.
